When i learnt 3betting(was maybe 4-5 years back), i was taught to use the formula 25% of opening range for value and then add “BLUFF FREQUENCY = SIZE OF BET/POT+SIZE OF BET”.
I have seen a few different cash game interpretations of 3bet ranges(they are all very simular), yet none of them are anywhere near the above calculation. Just got me thinking whether the formula is applicable to MTTs and just not cash.
Views on how you guys build your 3bet ranges in MTTs?
I’d recommend trying to find some ranges that others follow. You can get them in Ben’s courses, or look elsewhere online. Trying to build them from those formulas seems like a ton of work and I’m not sure that’s even viable. There tons of guidelines out there to follow which are way simpler and will save you a lot of time.
